live, ride, work with bikes
It's totally predictable to write a post about losing weight and getting fitter as we see the New Year in. but I feel it's really time to take action before I pile on weight and lose my cycling edge...
Last week I reviewed the Odlo Evolution Warm Base Layer which I found fantastic but like the name suggests, only for the coldest days! This, the "Light" version was ideal for today's mild weathered MTB ride. I wore a GORE BIKE WEAR WINDSTOPPER long sleeve jersey with the Odlo base layer beneath. I didn't get too warm and when stopped, certainly did not get cold. This is a long sleeve version and so look forward to trying a short sleeve version for the summer as sweat wicking was superb. As with my previous review...
Well no amount of plastic and light sensor stuck to to your helmet or bike will protect you in the event of an accident, but it can help you ascertain who's fault the accident was. If you're a good cyclist, you will obey traffic lights, avoid riding on the side-walk and cycle with all due care and attention. Nevertheless, sometimes you just can't avoid idiots with crap visual perception driving cars. Cyclists aren't as easy to spot as cars and so it's up to us to make as big of an impact as possible. If the light...
Flicking through Piston Heads the other evening, I came accross a review for a Porsche bike. A bike review on a car website, only made right due to the brand of the bike. See the review here...
After buying my Slayer 70 6 months ago, I was instantly impressed by many of its characteristics. I wasn't used to buying bikes "off the shelf" and would normally expect to custom build from the ground...

That means pre-tax and pre-National Insurance to you and me. Savings were in the...
In 2007 I spent two months riding the best bike park and surrounding areas you could imagine in Whistler. I became a much better rider because of it and came away with many friends. This video was the second video I shot at Whistler on..you guessed it, Day 3. I was 18.5st (252lbs) when this video was shot. I'm in it a little but so are others. A good sample of some of the trails accessible from the Garbanzo lift!
Thought I'd share the sticker that was just placed on my monitor. I bet there aren't many people who have these stickers!?!? I'm somewhat of a Retro MTB geek. Working at Wiggle gets me involved in...
It's not often I review or remark on cycle clothing. I should do as I own more of it than I do casual clothes. I have shorts, tights, jackets, jerseys, socks, arm warmers, leg warmers, gloves and more from brands ranging from dhb and Altura to Castelli, Assos and GORE BIKE WEAR. I suppose it's about time I started to talk about it all. I've been no stranger in the past to riding in all weathers. Although it's only recently, while moving to the countryside and living in a cold house have I truly understood the...
